Here are the best Android apps. They are all great.
Many people use them on their phone – even though they have different needs, these apps work for everyone. Here is a list of the top Android apps that are currently available.
Most people know about these apps. They are the best, so the list won’t change very often. It is difficult to get on this list, but we have some lists attached to each app in case you want to see more options.
Best Android Apps
The 1Weather app is a really good one. It has a simple design that shows you the current weather, what it will be up to 12 weeks from now, and also tells you about storms or other bad weather. It also has some other things like widgets, notifications about extreme weather conditions, and a radar so you can see storms coming. One of its best features is how simple it is–you will not get distracted by anything else while using this app!
Google Drive is a free cloud storage solution for Android where you can store your files. When you sign up, Google gives you 15GB of space for free. You can pay more if needed. The apps on Google Drive are very good, including Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Gmail, Calendar and Keep Notes. These are all office apps that help with productivity. And the best part is the unlimited photo and video backup in Photos by backing up to Photos with unlimited space.
Google Maps and Waze
Google Maps is a great app. It gets updates that add new features, and it’s one of the best apps for Android. If you have a phone with Google Maps, you can see rest stops and gas stations so you know where they are when you need them, or if there is traffic on the way to your destination. You can also download maps so they work offline so you don’t need to use data when traveling in another country. Waze is also a good app- it has lots of its own features.
This app is really helpful. You can download it onto your phone or other Android device and then you can use it to talk to the app. It does a lot of things like controlling lights, telling you about population control, and even doing simple math problems for you. And if that’s not enough, there are also other products like Google or Bose QC II Bluetooth headphones that extend the app’s functionality even more. There is also another Google Assistant app that lets people launch the application quickly from their home screen.
LastPass is an app that saves your passwords. You can also create complicated passwords to use on your accounts. It only works if you have a password for it, but it never asks for the password because it has cross-platform support. The premium version is cheap and always feels like it’s one step ahead of the others.
Microsoft SwiftKey Keyboard is one of the most powerful and customizable third-party keyboards. It came out a few years ago with a predictive engine unlike anything other keyboards have. You can download it for free, and you can buy themes if you want to. Other features include a dedicated number row, SwiftKey Flow which allows gesture typing, multiple language support, cross-device syncing of your library, and much more.
At first, we were not going to put any launchers on this list. Nova Launcher seems to be different than normal launchers. It has been around for years and it is always getting updates. So it is always a good option for launcher replacement when you need to change your phone or when something happens with your phone. It comes with many features including the ability to backup and restore your home screen set up, customizing icons for all of your Android apps, customization elements in the home screen and app drawer, etc.
You can even change your phone to look like the Pixel Launcher. If you want to, you can also add some gestures, unread count badges for apps, and swipe actions on icons. Some people might want something simple so they can use Lawnchair Launcher, Hyperion Launcher, or Rootless Launcher instead.
Podcast Addict is a good app. It has almost every podcast. You can use the UI to search for podcasts and organize them, too. It also works with Chromecast and SONOS speakers. The things you do on the phone’s screen are not very easy to see or understand, but that does not matter much because you can just do everything from your phone instead of using it as a remote control.
Poweramp is a popular and functional music player for Android. It has all the features, like hi-res audio support, Android Auto, an equalizer, gapless smoothing and it supports any type of audio file you can find. The UI takes a bit to learn but it’s one of the best looking music players as well with optional themes in the Google Play Store. There are other great music apps here too but Poweramp is arguably the best one to choose from.
When you want to find a file, you need a good file browser. Solid Explorer is a very good one. It has great features like Material Design, archiving support for different cloud services, and more power user features like FTP, SFPT, WebDav and SMB/CIFS support. Solid Explorer can be used for 14 days before it costs money at the end of the trial period.
Tasker and IFTTT
Tasker is a great app that you can use to create your own commands. You can then use these commands in various places. There are many apps that have Tasker support, and you can also make very complex commands for NFC tags. It’s hard to explain Tasker because it does so many things, but there aren’t many apps out there as useful as this one.
